The 8A Stepper Phidget (STC1002_0) is a high-power stepper motor driver capable of supplying up to 8A of continuous current per phase to a single bipolar stepper motor. Operating on a 10–30V DC external power supply, it delivers smooth, high-torque motion control with 1/16 microstepping resolution.
Designed for heavy-duty automated machinery and robotics, the driver features two flexible operation modes: Step Mode, which allows precise positioning to a Target Position according to configured Acceleration and Velocity limits, and Run Mode, which drives continuous rotation while strictly adhering to set motion parameters. Built-in electrical isolation and robust circuit safety systems protect host controllers against high-current electrical noise and fault conditions.
